Specialist Products for Vehicles & Boats > Maxxair MaxxFan roof vents
If you want to improve the ventilation in your motorhome, caravan or boat but air conditioning isn't an option, maybe a MaxxFan is. Designed and made in the USA, a MaxxFan will keep the air moving on even the hottest days, creating a constant cooling, refreshing breeze. As well as bringing air into the vehicle, when the fan is reversed, stale air will be sucked out.
Fitting into a standard 40 x 40 roof light space, and running on 12V, a MaxxFan can be used while the vehicle is stationary or in motion. A MaxxFan is a really fantastic piece of equipment and they are fitted as standard equipment in many American motorhomes.
Using a remote control, the fan speed can be adjusted and the top of the unit opened and closed. If you should lose the remote control, the MaxxFan can still be operated using a control panel built into the unit.
A MaxxFan unit will replace a standard 40 x 40 roof light and it must also be connected to a 12V supply. This is not a particularly difficult job if you know what you're doing (you can download the installation manual below) but, if you're in any doubt, get an expert to do it for you. Of course, RoadPro can install MaxxFans at our Daventry premises. To enquire about an installation, click here.
Ease of Use
I struggle in hot weather and don't have the cash or means of running AC as only wild-camp, so the MaxxFan looked like the best option. Its a quality product, efficient, quiet, yet does the job well. With a handy remote control and the additional blind with LED light installation in place of the original ceiling blind, providing excellent glare free lighting over the bed. It can be used static or on the move and in all weathers, so no worries about it being left open. I went for the opaque cowl version as wanted to minimise incoming daylight, which has been most effective... Overall i think it was worth the effort and expense :-)
