The Kompact 3 is the very latest type of satellite TV system from German manufacturer Megasat. This model has a single LNB which allows you to connect to a single TV with a built-in receiver or a stand-alone free-to-air satellite receiver.

Astra 2 is the satellite that carries most UK channels and, with a 40cm high dish, Kompact 3 models give the best reception of any satellite dome system, covering the whole of the UK and Ireland as well as reaching down into Europe, as far south as around Bordeaux. Outside the reception area of Astra 2, you will still be able to access up to nine other satellites, some of which carry English language programmes. See the footprint maps to get an idea of coverage. 

The dish can be controlled using your smartphone or tablet. The Megasat app is available free of charge in the App Store or Google Play Store. Alternatively, satellite selection is also possible on the control unit itself. Another huge benefit of using this app is that it can be used to install any firmware updates required: no more tricky updates using USB sticks or having to return the controller to the supplier for an update.

Installation is simple and straightforward with just one cable carrying both 12V power and the TV signal. The 12V supply comes from the TV/receiver.
